SOONERS TAKE THE POLAR PLUNGE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS

The Pre-Plunge Party will be held on Friday, February 6th, at O'Connell's Irish Pub & Grille from 6-8 P.M.  This will be a great opportunity to meet the Sooners Hockey players and other plungers.  Law enforcement officers from the Norman Police Department, OU Police Department, Moore Police Department and Joseph Harp Correctional Center will also be in attendance hosting Tip-A-Cop.  All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Oklahoma.

On Saturday, February 7th, the Norman Polar Plunge will take place at Hal Neiman Field (1500 Jenkins Avenue).  Registration begins at 10 A.M., a fire truck pull will begin at 11 A.M. and the 2009 Polar Plunge starts at 12 Noon.  Sooners Hockey players will attend to take the Polar Plunge for every $50 raised and donated to Special Olympics Oklahoma.  Brent Weber will emcee the event with celebrity plunger Chellie Mills from KFOR News Channel 4.  Also the Sooner Schooner, the official mascot of the University of Oklahoma, will make a special appearance at the Plunge.
