OU sweeps Weber State

The No. 5 OU Hockey club powered over the Weber State Wildcats on Friday and Saturday in the Blazers Ice Center in Oklahoma City.

Saturday, the Sooners put on a clinic with a 9-1 victory over the Wildcats.

OU notched four power play goals in the span of eight minutes during the first period.

Defensemen Austin Miller, and Keith Denton, and forwards Mark Tylka and Owen Brewer all contributed for the four goals in period one.

Penalties plagued Weber State all night long.

The Wildcats were penalized 13 of the 14 penalties in the first period, and eight of 12 in the second period.

The Sooners  advanced to 15-1-1 with the win and Weber State dropped to a dismal 5-8-1.

On Friday, OU got off to a quick start with a score from Brewer within the first minute of action.

The team didn’t slow down there with scores from forwards Kyle Allan and Greg Curtis. By the time the third period started OU was up 5-0.

Weber State did get a couple of goals off of power plays, but OU shut the door with two more goals of its own, winning 7-2.
